MARY, SEAT OF WISDOM CHAPEL
The groundbreaking of Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel began in August of 2011, but the dream of building a free-standing chapel has been long-held in the hearts of many. Founded as a teacher’s college in 1921 by the Benedictine Sisters as Villa Madonna College, Â鶹²ú¾«¹úÆ· is the Catholic college of the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky. Welcoming students from all faiths, Â鶹²ú¾«¹úÆ· challenges students to examine the ultimate meaning of life, their place in the world, and their responsibility to others.
On Dec. 9, 2012, the Chapel opened its doors and became a campus and community landmark and a symbol of the school’s identity as a Catholic educational and cultural institution. It now serves as the physical focal point and spiritual heart of the Â鶹²ú¾«¹úÆ· campus. Mary, Seat of Wisdom Chapel includes a meditation chapel that is open 24 hours a day, serving as a welcoming place for spiritual reflection for students, staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of the University. Mass is held Monday-Friday at 11:30 a.m. and Sundays at 8 p.m., with the exception of holidays and summer break.
Housed within the Chapel is the University’s Office of Campus Ministry. The 8,500 square foot chapel seats more than 300 people and is available to alumni and supporters of Â鶹²ú¾«¹úÆ· for weddings. For additional information about Campus Ministry, CLICK HERE.
